I have an earlier version of this set and it is really quite a nice setup. I use mine with Esbit.

I’ve used mine many times with esbit. Very versatile kit. Dan Durston was the first to ask for one to be made for him. He wanted it so the windscreen would fit inside the pot and wanted the ridge formed so he wouldn’t have to use a ranger band on the pot for the windscreen to butt up against. I’ve sold a few hundred kits over the years. Thank you Matthew for your purchase.

Dan, thank you so much for your contributions over the years to the lightweight hiking community.  I have several different cook kits but the one I virtually always go to is my Toaks 650 kit I bought from you about five years ago.  It is lightweight, efficient, safe and simple to use.  I truly couldn’t ask for a better setup!  Gerry

I have one of these as well as some other odds and ends over the years. It’s been my go-to kit since I got it. Perfect for what I do. Thanks for your contributions to the community!

Thank you John K. It’s been a fun ride.

I’ll put my kit to good use soon. Weather will change for the better soon. I’ll be using 80% alcohol hand sanitizer as my fuel. A local discount store has it on sale 32oz squeeze bottles for .75 ea. I’ll be using it as a fire starter also for my daily campfires :-)

Happy Trails!

Hi Dan Y,

Are you sold out? I am getting an error when I click the buy now option.

May I also add I’m sad to see you retire from the trade. I’ve been eyeing this kit for some time but never purchased due to doing most of my hiking in burn restricted seasons/areas… the threat of never being able to get my hands on one again has now lit the proverbial flame under my arss!

Best wishes for what come next for you in life Dan, and thanks for all the innovation you have done here!

Not sold out. I’m going to offer the remaining kits to the folks on Whiteblaze. I’ll contact you on Monday.

Thank you for the well wishes.

I get an error when trying to add to cart. Is this deal dead?

PostedApr 22, 2022 at 10:33 am

Hello Nick, yes, the deal is dead. I won’t be offering them any longer.

I’m in the process of designing a new kit using a generic 550 titanium pot and a straight wall pot support. Pot will have a ridge and a 3″ tall windscreen pot support. I’m just trying to use up my materials.

Oh sad! I saw this post and hoped Dan was still active! He created my best  UL Esbit kit ever and I wish him well!
