Looks like JetBoil has some new products for 2016, including the JetBoil MicroMo Titanium

JetBoil MicroMo Titanium

Honestly though, for the cost, it doesn’t seem to shave much weight compared to the cheaper Flash Lite, but JetBoil claims the burner on the MicroMo simmers better and performs better in cold weather.

We’ve heard dubious claims about cold weather performance of regulated upright canister stoves before, and I don’t believe the marketing from JetBoil any more than I would Soto or others.

Notice in the ad for the Ti model “For heating/water boiling only.

Fins on my old Ti melted off when trying to do light cooking of a dehydrated meal…

I assume all it is, is a Ti Sol pot on a MicroMo burner.

Wow, I can’t believe those melted fins! Is that why they quit making the Sol Ti?

I’ve always had good luck with Jetboil units, except for the &^!!^@*& piezo. On my second Jetboil, the piezo failed on the 3rd night out!

CRAP! Melted JB fins?? I hope my 1.5 liter JB pot fins never melt. So far so good with both white gas and iso-butane.

I’ve melted lots of snow in my Sol Ti even though they say you shouldn’t. You just need to put an inch of liquid water in the bottom of the pot and start out a little slowly.

REI have the Sol Ti companion cup 40% off.  Still not cheap at $54, but I just grabbed one as a backup in case I mess up and melt the fins one day.  I do like the efficiency and convenience of my Sol Ti for 3-season use.

Eric, it’s only the Titanium pots that are subject to melting fins. I’d read of it in the past, but hadn’t had it happen til this summer. I was “cooking” an http://outdoorherbivore.com/ meal (simple, dehydrated food) when the fins melted. The excessive heat also melted the stove slightly and singed the cozy.

Jetboil never had a caveat about not “cooking” with the Ti in the past, but obviously they had enough stoves like mine come back they’re now recommending “boil only” for the Ti.

I’ve seen several Ti pots like mine online with the fins melted off…
