We finished writing our trip report of our July 2016 thru-hike of the Colorado Trail. In order to get better control of the formatting we have published it on our own website DoingMiles.com

Enjoy, Amy and James

Super report and excellent photography, Amy and James!

I really like the format and your honest assessment of the good and not so good aspects of this trip. The interactive Caltopo map, links to trail guides and the way the key information is organized (mail drops!) will be of great assistance to anyone interested in planning for it.

And kudos for publishing it on your own website and not the klunky-buggy platform which is the ‘new and improved’ BPL. :-/

So glad to have come upon your post and website.  You inspire us and your resources will help our adventures a lot.  I am very curious about your favorite packs for the one week to 5 week type length backpacking trips.  These are our favorite and we were hoping to go to the Sierras this September so thank you for your trip reports!

Debbie and Dave,

I’m sorry about the very long delay before responding to your question. We were on the trail in August and September, and we’re just now catching up with old stuff.

When we built our DoingMiles website we decided not to invest time in documenting our gear lists as there are many lists out there and we don’t think our list is so special. We thought that trip reports would be more unique and useful. But it turns out that we got so many PMs asking about gear that we took the time to document our gear choices. If you’re still interested you can now find info about our the packs we use — http://doingmiles.com/techniques/

Cheers, Amy (and James too)
