Report / Notes
Bucket list adventure! Been dreaming of going here for YEARS!

Couldn’t have imagined a better overnight or better company to share the lookout with.

Please do every bit of research on this trail before deciding to give it a go and also give yourself PLENTY of time to get up there as even the slightest setback on the ascent could derail your timing on getting up there in the daylight.

Also, PLEASE remember to Leave No Trace! These fire lookouts are treasures and should be treated with respect. Do not leave it trashed or damaged. Pack it up, pack it down!

I love everything about fire lookouts, and this looks like a good one. A good steep hike, 360 views, historical architecture, narrow stairs. And your photography is spectacular – it really captures the essence of place. Thanks for posting this.

As someone who lives in West Seattle this hike has been on my bucket list for years.

Last year I slept at Lookout Mountain Lookout.  Another beautiful sleepover with a 360 degree view.

I’ve been up there many times…until the road washed-out!

I’ve also climbed the North peak (a roped technical time). See attached photo from somewhere in the 1990’s when I was doing a lot with the Mountaineers club.. You can see the lookout on the South peak on the right.

The south peak has some steep traversing in the early season…spicy!

What a beautiful mountain! Glad you could spend a great night up there!Three Fingers, North Peak
