I’m looking for a true 30 degree (comfort) bag with a light shell and at least a 62″ shoulder girth. Also 900 fill down or higher. The Ohm 20 looks as if it check all of the boxes, except that it’s hoodless. The 10d shell on the regular weighs around 9.5 oz and the bag has 12.5 oz 900 fill. Total weight 22 oz.
The Ohm 32 has been out for awhile, but I think the Ohm 20 is pretty new. MSRP is $460 for Ohm 20 (regular), but the recurring 20% off you see at backcountry, moosejaw, REI, and other online sites applies, so they can be had for about $368. That’s not bad really for quality 10d shell and 900 fill. A WM Megalite is $535 (regular) with a 12 oz shell and 12 oz 850 fill down (but it is hooded).
Anybody have field experience with the Ohm 20 or 32? Does the warmth to weight ratio stack up? On paper it should. Also any other thoughts on the bag would be appreciated.
