<p style=”text-align: left;”>I want to get a dedicated winter bag and was ready to getting a WM Lynx but then I watched several reviews of the Therm-a-Rest Polar Ranger and it looks to have many more features such as; arm holes and snorkel.  Is just as warm (if not warmer) and less expensive compared to others.  Thoughts?  Cost is ultimately not an issue and I already own a WM Alpinlite so can appreciate their quality.</p>

Although I’m a fan of WM B/C I’ve used an overstuffed 20 F.  WM Megalite since 2012, I like the Polar Ranger for its many features but especially for the DWR treated down. That is important in winter! My LL Bean -20 down mummy also has DWR treated down nd it works.

BTW, check out my “SYNTHETIC TOP LAYER” thread here in Winter Hiking for more info on winter sleeping WITHOUT frost buildup in yer bag.

->->Also see the YouTube videos by a Canadian hiker who uses the Polar Ranger with a synthetic quilt “topper”. Search for Canadian Rockies winter camping. The guy hs some good advice and is very experienced.

Thanks.  I bought an Apex and Alpha Direct overbag from Nunatak to use over my Alpinlite to move the condensation out of the down but testing it revealed it’s quite cumbersome as I’m a side sleeper and toss and turn.  I’m well aware of Justin’s videos on the Polar Ranger+EE synthetic quilt.
