Curious about this: https://www.hot-newtech.com/hoverglide
The product looks pretty cool but I’m not sure if I can trust the claims. If it does work than I’m thinking I may hack of the backpack and sew on my own custom pack onto the glide track.
…But this would be a truly revolutionary change to the hiking industry because despite it weighing more it seems like it would cause our bodies to be less fatigued carrying the backpack since we’re not having to lift the backpack up 4-7 inches with each step. Of course how effective this is all depends on the distance travelled, how much weight you’re carrying, the inclination, the pace you’re going etc. Just assuming though using a standard hiking pace on flat ground, with my average pack weighing 21.5lbs over a 7 day trek, do you think this will work / be more beneficial than a static (non bouncy) backpack?
Please share any opinions you have and please explain why you think that.
I emailed the owner asking for more information and he basically told me to hang on until Mid September and check the above link for updates. :S
