thansk for the insight!

I’ve finished the active dryer experiment and I’ve gotten some good differentiating data. I’ve got two more experiments to go before I write it up (passive 70s indoors and passive tent 30s in the snow). For this experiment, that’s all we will get , I believe.

… I’m honestly aiming to keep it simple as it’s my first experiment for bpl. Goal for me is to provide some limited but reliable information for the bpl community.

Obviously, this can not be an assessment of the socks performance (I would not be qualified and wound not pretend to be). But hopefully this data assessment will help other decide which socks they may want to explore as they come to bpl, perhaps as new readers, looking for insight or just to know the options.

I mean, I’m not looking to change which socks you guys wear, lol. You’ll  have years and thousands of miles of experience on me lol. I’m just messing around washing socks!

Hi piper, unfortunately I already started the experiment with 27 pairs of performance socks that underwent the same conditions simultaneously. I could do an supplemental piece at the end.

“Smartwool Mountaineer for me”

me too!

With injinji wool (toe’d)  liner socks (the synthetic ones smell too bad).

I’m a huge fan of Cloudline Medium Cushion Hiking Socks.

Made by Cloudline Apparel.  I find them comfortable and I have a tough time wearing them out.

Lorpen Tec, medium length, synthetic. (Fits 10.5 size feet. Canadians have big feet?)

Disclaimer:  Have not checked manufacturer in ages, because sox have lasted over 15 years.  Note: Somewhere buried in the BPL reviews, when we posted reviews, may be more details.

For anyone to take your test seriously you would HAVE to include a variety of Darn Tough and Smartwool products.  Most others are optional.  In addition to what others have proposed I would add Bombas.
