Hello, I recently purchased a protrail Li from tarptent. I have owned, and used quite a few of their tents over the years, and the protrail Li is just like all of their other shelters, impressive.
So, I just got done setting it up for the first time, and I am very impressed with the shelter. It was rather easy to set up, even with this being my first time doing so. I do have a few questions though.
1. Do you use the apex guyline tieout always, or only with inclement weather?
2. The perimeter has 4 tie out points on the hems near the foot and end of the tent. How is everyone using these? Do you just add a foot or two of line to them, or what? I do like the shelter, but it seems that no matter how tight i make everything, the side walls are still a little floppy. I have also read of people who are considering putting on stick on tie out points to pull the sides out some.
I am overall very impressed with this shelter, and am very excited to use it. The build quilty is top tier as expected. I am assuming my best options to help with inclement weather would be to treat it as an aframe tarp set up (as mentioned in a previous protrail li thread), and proper site selection.
Does anyone have any other tips and tricks regarding this shelter? Thanks in advance.
