Hello,

Thanks in advance for any help!
Im in doubt between two tents and cant stop reading the reviews about it.

Zpacks Free Duo and of the Tarptent Double Rainbow Li I can’t decide which one to get. I will use in backpacking trips, usually in the Pyrenees or Alpes, and bikepacking trips as well. Usually, I never use it during wintertime and will always use it by my own ( worry about condensations), so I will be using the tent during spring and summer. Looking for something thst have good structure and is lightweight as well. Up in the mountains, we do have high winds and good rains, that why something sturdy. I will attach two links to show exactly what I do.

Hope you enjoy de video guys!

Would love some recommendations about that two tents, because will be a big investment!

Appreciate your help

Best regards

I have had the Duplex in sustained 20 mph winds with brief gusts to 30. It was not very pleasant.  Personally I would not trust it above tree-line.  Of the 2, I would go with the TT.

I have used a TT for quite a few years now.  It has been sensational.  And when I foolishly allowed it to get a couple of holes (buring up slash during trail crew work) Henry Shires sent me the materials and instructions on how to repair it immediately.  So great customer service as well.

I’d vote for the TarpTent.  Great customer support. Great attention to detail and craftsmanship.

I have used my silnylon TT Double Rainbow above tree line but had to take the time to use deadmen covered with rocks to guy it out on all sides for stability.  Check out Ryan Jordan’s review of the TT DR here at BPL a few months back.

Lucca, no I haven’t used the Notch Li, but I’ve read some reviews and other people’s impressions. If I was in the market for a new solo tent, the Li would be it. If you search around on this site you’ll find a lot of mentions of this tent. I’m pretty sure that someone’s done a video review of this.
