Looking at the SWD 40 internal frame pack. Have ULA circuit and have a lot of extra room. Like to downsize. One luxury item I have, only one, is the REI quarter dome SL2, baseweight around 12. Will that size tent for in the tall side pocket? Appreciate everyone here, great site and people. Learn a lot. Iam 62, started packing several years ago. 30 years ago went on a 14,000 mile bicycle trip around US and Canada. Packing gives me a sense of adventure again. Any input appreciated, good or bad. Thanks

Dale,

I own the exact SWD pack you’re thinking of buying.  I also have the optional tall side pocket to slide my tent down into. I currently fit my Nemo Hornet 2 tent in the tall side pocket with room for my umbrella.

I’ll see if some of my other tents fit like my Big Agnes tent and respond back.

SWD is great to work with.  If you told them the rolled up diameter of your tent they’ll make the tall pocket wide enough for it to fit.

They rock!

Dale,

I have an old Big Agnes Seedhouse 2.  The specs say it’s 6.5 inches in diameter.  It barely fits in width wise in the tall pocket.  I had to push and twist to get it in.

The specs on your tent says it’s 7 inches in diameter.  It won’t fit SWD’s standard dimensions.

Like I said above….just email them and they’ll add additional material to make sure your tent fits.
