I’ve switched from the Fire Maple 116T to the Fire Maple Hornet (FMS-300T). The body of this stove gets pretty hot fairly fast, but I have been reading all the available information here and am not overly scared… except for a wee bit of residual concern about heat passed on to the canister valve in a very localised way.

From what I have read, it seems that such heat would not be sufficient to harm the valve… and that even if it did affect the valve, the first consequence would be a shut down (no more gas, end of story). I know about monitoring overall canister heat, so this is the only concern I have left. I’d be thrilled if the experts here could reassure me. :-)
