15 minutes of ******* around to post a simple question —
How long does it take to charge a SteriPEN Ultra from a battery bank? (Anker PowerCore 10000)
TIA
Not a direct answer but you may find that the Ultra will operate while charging from your battery bank. It certainly works with my old Steripen Freedom when its battery is low I can still purify water once connected to my power bank but well before it has had time to recharge.
Mine took less than hour to recharge, but I use quick chargers.

A quick charger plugged into a wall socket, or a battery bank used in the woods that has a high output rating?
If the latter, what brand and model?
Anker PowerCore Speed 10000mAh, Qualcomm From Amazon
Quick Charge 3.0 Portable Charger, Compatible with PowerIQ, Power Bank for Samsung, iPhone, iPad and More
sorry took me a bit to erase all the crap that comes up with copying and pasting here. It’s on Amazon and has been all I need for a week or more of the Inreach, my iPhone 8 Plus and my Steri pen.
DM –
Thanks for the make and model.
Digging into the Anker site I saw that the Speed provides no benefit when charging an iPhone so there is some hardware dependency –
“Depending on what you are looking to charge, you may or may not want this (ex. iPhones don’t benefit from it).”
I doubt the Speed is twice as fast as the “basic” and I can certainly live with a 2 hour charge time on the SteriPEN. That would be pretty impressive.
I charge my IPhone all the time on the Anker, it works really fast it’s an iPhone 8 Plus. And the Steripen is charged up in about an hour…I don’t know what you mean by “hardware dependency” all I know is it works for me in half or less the normal time from an outlet and the old battery bricks that I carried before. HYOH :-) Good hunting for what you desire.
“Hardware Dependency” – my term, derived from this September 1027 thread –

The first reply in the thread discussing the “basic” versus the “Speed”.
The hunt is over. Thanks for your input.
