For anybody that may be interested in the discontinued Sling-Light chair, Freeform R&D is considering a new manufacturing run. I received the following announcement today:

    Dear SLING-LIGHT customer…
We are considering another limited run of the SLING-LIGHT. All slings and headrests will be BLUE. The chair and headrest will be the same material, dimensions and quality that we have produced since 1977.
All materials are U.S. manufactured and all work is done at Freeform except for the sewing and heat treating which are still done by our local vendors in the U.S.Dimensions; 26 x 16 x 1.5”, weight; chair 18oz, headrest; 4 oz. Tubing; drawn seamless.
    See web site: (slinglight .com)
    NEW PRICE WOULD BE $159.95
SHIPPING $15.00 for 1 chair and $2.00 for each additional chair VIA UPS Ground OR USPS parcel post within continental US. Shipping charges outside the U.S. varies by country.
(COLOR BLUE ONLY for NEW CHAIRS)
California sales tax applies to California shipping addresses.
Payment via PayPal invoice from Freeform R & D
Lead time for start of chair delivery would be at least 4-6 months depending on response. The time frame is very dependent on Kaiser Aluminum lead time which can vary 8-16 weeks at the time of the order placement.
At this time we are just contacting recent inquiries’ and previous customers.
PLEASE REPLY and let us know if you would be like to have your name on our order list (priority by listing date) or have a pro or con comment.
    Best regards,
    Steve Wheeler

Slightly heavier than the Helinox Chair Zero, bulkier, and significantly more expensive, but generally well-liked in their time (see reviews and comments on this site). I carried one following an injury many years ago, before the Helinox chairs were available, and found it comfortable, especially with the headrest.
