Simblissity Headnets Available Again!

It is made from tulle and is not a noseeum headnet..just adding that.

Is it worth upgrading from the Sea to Summit head net? I’ve never really noticed a lack of breathability or problems seeing with it on, but I’m usually focused on nuking the world if I’m wearing it. Are they reasonably durable (e.g. stuffed into a pants pocket)?

I cannot compare the Simblissity to the Sea to Summit headnet but I find my Simblissity net reasonably durable since I am stuffing it into one of my pockets all the time and have observed no wear or damage. When worn over a broad brimmed hat, it stays off the face and seems quite roomy inside.

If you are bushwacking or traveling on trails crowded by brush, the net will catch and potentially snag.

I already own two but am glad they are available again!

Now if only they would make the wallets again. I love my Simblissity wallet, but it is falling apart, and becoming more duct tape than wallet.Oh,and I would also buy their scree gators if they sold them again.

Simblissity makes some great things. I just with they made them more often.

To the Simblissity headset I would sew on an elastic cord at the bottom on each side, front to back, to go under your armpits and hold the net down.

I have a headnet like this and it works very well in Canadian black fly country. Black flys, for those who have not experienced them, are like mosquitos on steroids.

Noseeums are truly tiny and may well make it through tulle mesh. We don’t have many of them in Kodiak but Yakutat is just absolutely lousy with the little bastards. Anyone know if these headsets stop noseeums?

Unfortunately, they won’t.

The looser weave which gives them remarkable breathability will also let in noseeums.

But if these are the same as the Peter Vacco headnets, they are worth getting because they are so much more pleasant to wear than noseeum headnets.

If I were travelling through no-see-um habitat, I’d carry both and wear the noseeum net only when absolutely necessary.

Resurrecting this thread to say I bought one of these and they are totally worth the cheddar if you are dealing with standard-sized bugs. As I stated earlier, we have almost no noseeums in Kodiak, but if you hang out in the wrong spot there could be mosquitoes, black flies, or white socks (or some combo of these). I’ve worn the Simblissity headnet now a number of times and it does not obscure my vision nearly as badly, and lets MUCH more air through, compared to noseeum mesh nets. I especially appreciate this when I am running my Honda brushcutter: plodding slowly up an overgrown trail and mowing down salmonberry, ferns, grass, puchkie, elderberry, alder, and all manner of Satan’s salad bar, while a swarm of insects attempt to feast on me and my 0.5 mph pace makes their pursuit effortless. I have hated headnets forever but I actually don’t mind this one because you can feel the slightest breeze move through the mesh and you aren’t looking through frosted glass. 100% recommended.

Agree that vision is MUCH better with the Simblissity head net. The dark veil over everything was my main reason for not liking head nets. this almost eliminates that.
