Anyone have a favorite shell mitten to put over Dachstein wool mitts when it gets really windy?
I’m looking at the OR Revel. Wondering also whether to size up one or two sizes for shells over these thick wool mittens.
Not sure that waterproof is a requirement, so open to non-membraned fabric shells too. UL would be nice, as the Dachsteins definitely ain’t.
If you have medium sized hands, you might be able to fit an XL pair of REI Minimalist gloves over them? Those gloves are meant more for thinner liners so they need to be sized up a lot. Very light weight though.
I have the OR Mt. Baker mitten shells, which are extra burly but similar to the Revel in design. OR really makes some of the best mitten shells in terms of the design of the straps. Maybe just pick the lightest weight one of the lineup, but I find it hard to find product weights for them online.
