Seeking recommendations: fleece pillow stuff sack, lightweight USB headlamp

The new Petzl “Hybrid Technology” headlamps can take their USB-rechargeable “Core Battery” or 3xAAA’s. I like mine.

Thermarest makes a nice fleece pillowcase.  I’ve tried a variety of pillows but the Thermarest Trekker pillowcase is still my favorite.    Mine weighs 2.1 oz.

Thermarest also makes a reversible stuff sack pillow but the reviews suggest it is noisy.

The only downside to the pillowcase (stuff sack) style pillow is that you have to have enough spare clothing to make a good pillow.  On cold weather trips I’ve found this to be a challenge as most of my clothing items are already part of my sleep system, so not much left to make a pillow.

I use a Nitecore ‘Thumb’ for my headlamp. Its rechargeable and weighs .8oz
The only downside is it only works as a headlamp if you wear a brimmed hat while using it. So if you wear a hat I say give it a-go.

Nice find with the thumb light! I’m going to give it a shot but clipped to my clothing(I don’t wear a hat). I have the Pretzl with the core but core stopped working after a few recharges so I went back to using it with regular batteries.

I use my buff as a pillow case. Just put all your extra clothes in a stuff sack then slide your buff over the stuff sack. Works great and duel use.
