Second opinion on pot purchase

When packing and cooking for 2-3, I bring a Bugaboo 2L pot that weighs 8.3 ounces, and its plastic lid weighs 4.3 ounces more, for a total of 12.6. (I also dislike the lid, although it hasn’t melted yet). If I bring along a small fry pan, that adds another 3.7 ounces (only for short trips in berry season). Instead of that pound + I could get the evernew nonstick ti pot and fry pan lid ECA419 for a total weight of 8.5 ounces, about $85 or so right now on sale.  Is it worth it? I tried to find other options for a pan this size and regular lid (not a fry pan lid) but that saved no weight and decreased functionality.

I cook in the pot, no plastic baggie eating. So the pot does need the volume to handle noodles, etc. for up to 3. It seems like a lot to spend for the weight savings, but I’ve reduced a lot of other weight already, so unless we switch to eating from bags or going no cook, I’m not seeing a lot of choices out there. I looked through the old threads, but didn’t see a lot of the products people talked about that were claimed to be lighter.

Any suggestions? Worth the price tag?

I’m sorry I don’t have a useful suggestion but I’m wondering what you make in a frypan during berry season. Pancakes?

Keith Titanium sells a 1.8L pot with regular lid (with strainer holes) that weighs 8.7 oz, but it’s $80.

As far as the Evernew pot/lid combo, is it worth it? Yes, if it makes your trip simpler and more enjoyable, and it’s within your budget. No, if every time you use it you sigh at how much it costs and you become kinda sorry you bought it. For me, cost is only one factor, and far from the most important one, when considering a purchase.

Since Titanium is a relatively poor conductor of heat, a titanium fry pan will fry OK when you are using oil to transfer the heat to the item being cooked but will not pan broil all that well, for example if you want to grill a steak.  The MSR blacklite frying pan is a better pan for pan broiling than an Evernew lid because it is aluminum and has a bit more mass. https://www.amazon.com/MSR-Black-Lite-Fry-Pan/dp/B000AXRUA0

In my experience, the standalone Evernew titanium frying pan is a better pan than that Evernew lid for frying, or flipping pancakes, or making an omelettes since it has a sloping slides that enable you to use a small spatula. ECA441. You can use a bandana or rag to hold it and leave the handles at home to shave an ounce or two off.  Whether all these items are worth it depends on what you are cooking. I found the Evernew lid by itself to be a marginal frying pan although it does work better for frying that trying to use the bottom of a 2 liter pot. :-))
