Sea to Summit – Top notch customer service

My Ether Light XT pad originally purchased in late 2020 developed a leak half away across Scotland and I had to hastily buy a replacement in Braemar.

I assumed it was a puncture and sent it home intending to repair it and use the pad again.  In the meantime I also bought and tried an Uberlight.  For me, the Uberlight was simply not as comfortable so I dug out the Ether Light and looked for the puncture a couple of weeks ago.

There was no puncture.  The leak appeared to be from the seam of one of the ‘air cells’ and due to its location a patch would not work.

A quick read of their warranty implied that if it was a defect, then I could get a replacement.  However the retailer here in the UK rejected my request stating that it was too long after purchase and they no longer stocked or sold Sea to Summit equipment.

Thankfully the UK distributor stepped in.  They organised the return and after assessing the pad, sorted a replacement within a few days.

Absolutely top notch customer service from Sea To Summit.  They stand by their warranty even if the retailers don’t.

Good to know. I had heard good things about them and that’s the reason I bought a pillow from them. Got tired of having a $18 pillow leak just out of the year warranty.
