Scunci hair clips work well for temporarily holding fabric edges together prior to sewing.
(1) When open their jaws open like an alligator so it is easy to slip them over the fabric edge.
(2) Once in place they snap closed with a bend in them to grip the fabric.
(3) As your needle approaches they can easily be removed by pulling on the blunt end.

Dec 7, 2016 at 11:05 am #3439256Yes, these can be handy little additions to one’s sewing tool kit. Sort of like using paper clips. I would add though to watch when purchasing because there are some brands that have a pronounced kink in the middle of the center tongue. They still work but I prefer the smoother style. Thanks for posting. Might be useful tip for some folks that are sewing thin slippery sil-nylon.
