Salomon Odyssey Triple Crown

Haven’t seen these yet, but they are intriguing.  I’ll probably end up with a pair, as I wear Salomons for pretty much everything – they fit my feet really well.

Ooh, just saw that they are available on REI.com.  I’ll be ordering a pair.  And check out the crazy color option for men.

From reading the specs, the only negative seems the drop of 10mm seems a bit much, but I think my Leadville’s were 8mm and I didn’t really have much trouble going to those from 6mm. I’m not fond of the Reggae Festival color version for trail use, but at least their other color is much more subdued.

I think I’m going to give these a try later this year as I’m down to one more unused pair of my stash of New Balance Leadville’s that I bought up when they announced they were dropping the model (I hate when shoe companies do that). Let us know how you like them. I’ll have to see if I can find these on sell sometime this spring The full price seems a bit much when I don’t know if I’ll like the shoe. Any one know how Salomon sizing compares to New Balance?

I had a pair sent to me, but they were about a half size too big so I sent them back.  I liked how light they are and I like the Salomon tread for hiking; it has some stick to it but holds up really well.  The uppers are very light but there is more of a rand than many of the trail runners I use.  The color is pretty cool too.
