Hi all.

I bought a pair of these from GGG. I’ve used multiple types of poles before, so usually can work them out……but in this case, I can’t for the life of me work out how to lock them in place! I can piece them together, and slide up/down, and that’s it.

Anyone with experience out there able to help me?

Thanks!

Twist the top pole segment to the right, like tightening a bolt. The rubber spacer/locking mechanism will be contract and bulge, locking the pole in place with the lower section. You may want to make sure the rubber mechanism is somewhat tight and secure, but not buldging before inserting into the lower section. Friction between the spacer and the connecting pole is the key. Reverse the process to unlock the pole segments.

If I’ve totally confused you, give Josh a call at Ruta Locura. He actually picks up his his phone! Good luck.

Thanks! Yes, I can see how it works, but the rubber only seems to get ‘purchase’ when I have the lower pole very close to the bottom of the upper pole (i.e. the length is effectively at full extension). Once I try to shorten it, the rubber doesn’t get any purchase, so it doesn’t tighten on twisting the upper…..

Thanks for the suggestion. might need to give Josh a call.

See if you can create a very slight bind between the two sections.

Yep, got it! I tightened it when at full length, then just loosened it enough to slide it to the right height (with slight friction), and then was able to tighten again.

Thanks so much. Great help!
