This happened a couple months ago, but exciting for those who follow distance running. Rupp won the silver medal in the 10K event at the 2012 Olympics.
This year he ran his first ever marathon, which just happened to be the Olympic Trials. Here’s an interesting training workout
In terms of the marathon, Salazar was very bullish on Rupp’s future in the marathon. He shared that during this buildup, Rupp completed a 20-mile tempo at 4:52 pace, his heart-rate never exceeding 150 beats per minute.

Apr 10, 2016 at 2:41 pm #3395231If promising to place well in the marathon, it seems dumb to try to double up. I’d imagine the 10KÂ event is first and he may be worn out for the marathon.
