Does anyone know of a trekking pole other than the Cnocs that has a similar height range? The Cnocs are 28”-62”. This is great for me because I’ve got an Altaplex and currently have to use a pole jack which I find unstable. But also I want it to collapse down far enough for the foot end of my tarp. My model Lekis I have don’t fulfill either of these requirements. Any ideas? Thanks

Leki do a few poles that are 57″m e.g. Serpa XTG. The Komperdell Camera Staff is 59″ but a bit heavy.
For other 59″ poles, you probably need to look at ski touring poles, which are usually 2 section, rather than 3.
I know of no very tall hiking pole that collapses to 28 inches.
You can combine two trekking poles to make a pole 5 to 7 feet tall using velcro or by lashing (rope) or obtain a commercial product such as the Black Diamond pole converter which used to come free with a BD Megalight https://www.gearx.com/black-diamond-pole-link-hiking-pole-converter
You can also buy very short, very light carbon fiber poles from various cottage manufacturers.
Have you considered buying a shorter one and replacing the center section with a longer section? The center sections are usually constant diameter, as opposed to the tip section which is tapered at the end. For reference, the CMT 3K max extension is 55” max, but look at the pic below, you may be able to extend it another inch with each section to get it to 57” without issues. Its collapsed length is 26”, so you could get a center tube that is 2” longer and it would reach 59” and collapse down to 28”. Just a thought.

Or you could buy a better-fitting pole jack.
I went through the process trying to work out an alternative or some sort of extension system to get out to @ 160 cm so I could do a 2-pole inverted V pitch in stormy weather with a duomid. Read all the old threads here on bpl. Read all the threads on trek-lite. Read what I could find on reddit. Checked out the locus gear attachment, The old molded piece printed with a plastic printer: forget what that’s called. Tried jacks from a couple of well known gear makers. Etc. etc. and more etc.
Ended up buying the CNOC’s are they are nice. I’ll post some photos in a day or so when I can get a minute. From the tips to the handles they are just well made, nicely featured and have all sorts of little extras. I’ve had maybe a dozen sets of poles, GG BD leki. and at least out of the box these are nicest by far though the BD carbon flz are really nice too but just different and wayyy too short for pitching a duomid.
IDK haven’t had them out there yet so I guess there could be some negative surprise but from the great handles with really nice straps (I usually ditch the straps but not these) down though the sturdy large diameter shafts with imprinted length measurements and sturdy locks to the removable/replaceable tips they just thought of everything and executed it thoroughly yet cleanly/simply and at a reasonable weight. Really nice.
@obx hiker I agree. I’ve got a lot of myog and other hacks I do that make this a very interesting pastime and saves money, but there’s something to be said for buying a piece of gear designed for what you need. Besides, CNOC being a growing company that makes what seems to be solid products…I don’t mind spending a little more to support that. Thanks to all for the input
A quick search for 150cm poles found this. Unsure of its quality, but it may be a choice for your consideration.
