<p style=”text-align: left;”>hi all,</p>
my Saucony Perigrines are falling apart so I need to replace them.

the sole is delaminating prematurely, and the company won’t stand behind the product).

also the mesh is coarse and lets in dust and sand. Once the sand is in there walking seems to abrade holes in the sides. I’ve got a few decent sized holes in them now.

one 50 mile trip did quite a bit of damage to them. I’ve gotten 150-200 miles total maybe.

I will say I absolutely love the fit and feel. They’re super light, have a carbon sole so you can’t feel rocks much, and the tread works great on sketchy terrain (not as sticky as an approach shoe but the points dig into rough terrain).

what’s a good replacement for the Saucony perigrine? I want to stick with the non-Goretex trail runner style.

So I just ordered another pair of Peregrines because I found a good deal…

I’m still interested in recommendations for the next pair, since I’ll probably wear these out quickly.

I’ve been using their ISO for about a year.  Unfortunately the last few months have been harder pavement/dirt daily walks due to the lockdown.  The heels are wearing faster than I’d like.  I have noticed that dirt will find its way in.  Not too bad bur a grain of sand can feel like a boulder at times.  The sticky soles are welcome for gripping power.  I like the lacing system and their lightweight but will be looking at something different when these wear out due to cost vs life span.  I should be able to make them last until late winter I think.  I know this aint helping but am curious if you have the ISO’s or the 10 GTX’s ?

Ah.  The ISO’s are quite similar.  Nice shoe but ~$100 for disposable shoes make me shake my head.  I want something with a defined notch in the sole for gaiter straps.  Might just go back to a hiking shoe for my style of hiking/camping/bear kicking/fire stomping type of outings.  Good luck with the search. * edit-similar in general design+

Thanks. I actually just ordered gaiters to try and help preserve the new pair longer. I didn’t use them previously.

I have MLD’s short gaiter.  They use a cord that goes under the shoe.  Not the greatest for long life but it’s what I chose.  This is why I’ll look for a shoe with a notch or some means of not having the cord in close contact with the ground.  blah, blah.  Peace,  ~RL

I got this one off Etsy. It comes with Velcro. Some people recommending using special glue instead of just the adhesive that comes with the Velcro. It connects on the front and heel sides, no connections under the shoe.

Nice.  I got boring ol black ones.  There are shoes out there that have gaiter provisions.  Might be worth a look.
