So my trusty siltarp 2 bit the dust this weekend camping with my Cub Scouts.  Looks like Integral is out of business since their website is down.  Is the RAB Sil Tarp 2 compare?  Thanks!

Integral Designs was taken over by Rab, or Rab’s parent company. A number of ID products are now produced under the Rab name. I believe the Siltarp 2 is one of them.

What made their 8X10 tarp different than other tarps made by other manufacturers?

I PM’d Rob yesterday ’cause I hadn’t renewed my membership so I couldn’t comment on threads, but now I can, so I’m pasting it here in case it helps someone else:

So I use an Oware tarp (wanted some custom tie-outs so nothing off-the-shelf worked for me), but was recently made aware of some new company out of Colorado called Paria (absolutely no affiliation, just sharing info), who seem to make a practically identical product as Integral/Rab’s (same tie-out configuration, same weight) but way cheaper (~$80) and includes Al Y stakes + guy lines.

Here’s a link to the product on their site: https://www.pariaoutdoorproducts.com/collections/products/products/sanctuary-siltarp

And on Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01E6454HO/

Apparently their customer service is good too, from what I’ve read on reviews and reddit.

I have no personal experience with this tarp.

The Rab Siltarp 2 is the same .

Equip Outdoor Technologies Ltd merged Integral Designs and Rab into one brand. It also owns Lowe Alpine.

Thanks for all the info.  I ordered the Paria from Amazon.  Be here tomorrow, so I will update with a review once I test it out.

Integral Designs was part of http://www.equipuk.com/brands.html but is no longer listed. I don’t think they were simply subsumed by Rab. I think Rab has used some of their designs but they may have left that group and simply gone out of business… but am not sure.

This I know from an Rab email when i was trying to contact Integral Designs towards the end of 2015.

“Thanks for your email. We’re very sorry but as we no longer trade with the company we do not have any information that we would be able to pass on.”

I cannot find any links now but from memory Equipment Outdoor Technologies bought the non military/government contracts part of Integral Design .
Maybe the reason for phasing out the Integral Design brand at retail level (within the group) not to confuse it with the separate and ongoing (then at least) military section.
I remembered..
The new name for the military division is Integral Tactical

I own a ID SilTarp 2 and a RAB SilTarp 3. The only things Rab changed was the stuff sack. Same design, materials and construction/ sewing. Like all ID products the sewing is pretty good. Straight seams, no loose threads. etc.  For the longest time after the merger/aquisition, many ID items were available at MEC Canada.

Cheers,Bruce

Integral Tactical doesn’t have the same products Integral Designs sold. Wonder why they dropped that range…
