I am looking for rain mitt pattern. I have a good amount of 3 layer eVent, and some ToughTek. Would you seam seal it while you sew it or after? Thinking of just having a drawstring and toggle at the wrist. Thank you!

Before you even start, try wearing rubber gloves for a few hours while exercising. The sweat build-up inside is quite something.
So seam sealing any mitts could have the same effect.
I use GTX mitts in the snow, over other gloves. I hope that the GTX will breathe enough that condensation is minimal.
Cheers
Isn’t eVent more breathable that GTX? Or are you using your seams as your venting?
It was not planned that way, but I think the seams act as vents.
Ha – in the snow my hands are rarely up to sweating temperature anyhow. Unless we are going up hill :-)
I also use GTX for snow gaiters, where it works quite well.
Cheers
I’ve made some out of tyvek- I just traced around my hand and added enough for seam allowance and a little more
Getting a good fit to the thumb is NOT easy. The thumb comes out of the palm face, not symmetrically out from the seam.
But if the overmitt is big enough, it does not matter.
Cheers
I’m posting my pattern here. Easy to sew, 2D seams only. Previously I developed a real 3D pattern, but it was pain to sew and there’s practically no difference in the fit.
In the pattern, there are the two pieces for the front part with thumb (palm + thumb, wrist + thumb). Sew these together first. To make the third part, the back, just trace the palm and wrist parts together with the thumb folded away.
As it is, the size is very large – intended to fit over warm gloves. Scale it down according to your measurements or try a cheap prototype first. Going down to 85% worked well for thin rain mitts worn over a light liner (my glove size is 10).
