heres an itinerary I’ve been working on. My permit reservation has been acquired as well. If anyone has other suggestions, please let me know. I want to climb Fin Dome. Any other climbing suggestions since the miles are pretty low each day (well for me that is).

May 22: Bubb’s creek to vidette Meadow, 13.2 miles
May 23: Vidette Meadow to 60 lake basin, 8.2 miles
May 24: 60 lake basin to Rae lakes, 3 miles
May 25: Rae Lakes to Upper Paradise Valley, 12.6 miles
May 26: 8.5 miles to Woods Creek exit trailhead.

Coming from someone who has done the loop 11 times, your itenerary sounds good.

You could consider spending your Rae Lakes time on May 23rd, and then spend the day and night in the 60 Lakes Basin on the 24th, exiting off-trail at its north end on the 25th. This keeps you off the heavily trafficked JMT.

FIN dome is a FINE rock.

There will not be any JMT traffic the end of May.

There’s still 10 feet of snow up there.

Yeah, if you aren’t ready for some mountaineering and really high stream crossings, that might be a problem.

There may not be 10 feet of snow by the end of May, but there will be snow, and plenty o snow melt. Just because the road opens at the end of April doesn’t mean you’re getting across Glen Pass. Trailhead is at around 4000 feet. Glen is 11000+.

I was wondering how this trip turned out? We are planning a similar itinerary but clockwise this upcoming holiday weekend.
