quilt recommendation

I am in the market for a quilt, 10 – 20 degree, regular, regular or wide, dri-down would be nice.  I am looking into this for a friend, as I already own a EE revelation 30 degree, and a A Sorenson made costco down blanket converted to a quilt.  I like them both.

My friend is willing to spend $300 or so, based on my guess of what one costs.  Did some research and other than EE I found Jacks r better and UGO.  Both have a 20 or so degree quilt for low $300 range.   I notice Jack’s R better quilts are on sale.  I kind of think they were on sale last time I looked also.  Are they always on sale?  Any other vendors I should be looking at in this range?  Want to sell me yours (all post that in the gear swap forum later).

Also wondering about wait time, 7 weeks for UGO, 0 for Jack’s r better.  I could afford 7 weeks now, but not much longer.  I have a message into UGO to ask about lead times, but if you have experience that would be great.  Seems like most folks I read about on this forum are using EE or other higher end brands.

thanks, Matt

I just recommended a Hammock Gear Burrow 20 on another search for someone looking for a similar priced quilt with quicker turnaround time than EE and it is what he ordered, it is  850 fill power, water-resistant goose down like you are looking for. Mo FromBrisbane said

In the end I ordered a Hammock Gear Burrow 20. Looks nice, and only has a 3 week lead time.

Can’t wait to get all my stuff!

Here is J Dos Antos’s thread about his HAMMOCKGEAR BURROW 20* QUILT – INITIAL REVIEW/IMPRESSIONS .

Yes, that will do . . .  Thanks so much for the recommendation, the price is right and if that recommendation was not too long ago the wait meets the time frame he needs.  Ok, finally using the search and I see this was within the last few days.  Many thanks Link!!

Glad I could help and I hope it works out well for your friend.

For your info, I have noted significant and irritating down shifting in my Jacks R Better quilt, primarily in the upper body area.

Thanks for the note Duane.  Guessing that could help others who read this thread for reference.  My friend ended up buying the Burrow per the recommendation above.
