I have a Dutchware quilt liner which is made from Argon 67 taffeta fabric that I bought with the idea to help prevent condensation from affecting the insulation of my down quilt/sleeping bag. My thought is that using it on the inside will help reduce my body’s perspiration from getting into the quilt insulation and condensing near the surface at the dew point but, using it on the outside will help reduce shelter condensation from affecting the outer layer of the quilt. Since this material is breathable, yet resistant to moisture, would it be better to use it to line my quilt from the inside or outside? Two notes to consider:
- I sleep in a Warbonnet Ridgerunner hammock enclosed in a Spindrift Sock so ventilation is good and there is no real issue with ground moisture.
- When condensation is a concern, I wear a face mask to reduce the amount of shelter moisture created by respiration.
