Quick Utah Trip August 1
Jul 8, 2021 at 7:29 pm #3721364
Business finds me in Salt Lake City. I have 3 days free time. (plus half a day to drive in and out)
I have never hiked Utah.
Looking for suggestions for a trial.Jul 9, 2021 at 8:02 am #3721412obx hikerBPL Member
The Uinta’s look like your nearest option. This award winning film starring the founder/owner of Z-Packs, Joe Valesko, might give you some ideas. Watch out for altitude sickness if you’re taking the highline. Diamox.
It’s a nice @ 4.5 hour drive to the WRR or similar to the Needles.Jul 13, 2021 at 7:31 am #3721814

Lets hope the high temps get more inline with normal before then.
I’ll be headed that way tomorrow, but more hiking with temps above 105 has me tired already.
I’ll be starting very early and then having a cool drink with lunch at restaurant.Jul 13, 2021 at 11:24 am #3721839George WBPL Member
And read the hat threads, you’ll need a good one.Jul 14, 2021 at 1:17 pm #3721901
105 in Uinta? I think the temperature up the high country are a bit better. Am I missing something?
