I just received my new Bristlecone bivy from Katabatic Gear and I had a question about one of the features. How useful do you find the pad straps on the floor of the bivy? I am using a wide Neoair XTherm and a Feathered Friends Tanager and the straps just seem a bit fiddly and gimmicky. I was hoping to get some real world feedback from people who have the bivy whether or not they use the straps. I’ve owned a few other bivys and none of them had pad attachment straps.

The d-rings on the floor of the bivy line up with their quilt attachment cords, so they are a double-duty feature. I’ve used them a few times and not used them a few times. It seemed like they do help to keep your pad from shifting inside the bivy, so I use them.
I have never used them. Have not ever needed them either.
Never used them. Pad straps quilt straps bivy straps. Nope. Never had any issues either.
