Haven’t tried it, haven’t heard of it before, so thanks for the link.

$15.95 (plus shipping) for 12 gallons of treated water, or $34.95 (plus shipping) for 48 gallons of treated water. Seems a tad high, though I certainly like what it claims to do.

After a bit of research it appears to be a little too good to be true. The EPA testing states that a 0.2 micron filter was used prior to treatment which in and of itself would render the water OK to drink in most circumstances.

“Tests conducted by an EPA certified laboratory demonstrate that our Purinize reduces E-Coli 100%,

Giardia 99% and Cryptosporidium 97.1%. All laboratory tests were conducted using a 0.2 micron filtration system for removal of precipitates.”

Perhaps it was a typo and they meant 2.0 microns or 20 microns.

John, you are correct. A .5micron filter is all that is needed to filter all but viruses from water. The metal salts are flocculants resulting in some precipatory byproducts, usually inorganic. While it is true that clean water will not support inimical bugs, it will take a long time, and, often causes sporulation in those species capable of it.
