I’m biting my tongue to stay within guidelines.
Me too!
Cheers

Me Three,

We purchased a house in Tucson AZ in late 1968.   Dad headed to Vietnam and we stayed the year.  The builder KNEW how to build for deserts.  No such thing as solar panels.  But planted the entire front yard in rocks and native cactus and plants.  Half the back was minimal.  Only a small fenced backyard had flowers and turf grass.  Now the house.  He built it out of adobe.  Those adobe bricks were something like 14 inches thick on the outside walls.  They would be cool to the touch when it was 100 degrees outside.  Cooled by a “Swamp Cooler”.   The electric and water bill was half what the neighbors with “Conventional” walls, conventional landscaping and freon AC were costing.

I need to read the links at the start of this.   The current Executive branch did/does have proposals to sell federal lands.  They could affect many western trails.  Many western state governments pushed back on the proposal.  I believe they would have first choice to purchase if it happened.  They also point out how many of these lands are many miles away from any infrastructure.
