A friend and I are planning to hike the JMT highway in 2017. I have been on sections of the JMT, but always in the middle of summer. Some areas are really busy (Rae Lakes, Yosemite) while in my limited experience some less busy. I have one friend who did the hike in September 5 or so years ago and said the he and his wife so virtually no one. This was pre Wild, which I know has kicked up JMT and all back country travel a bit. What is your recent experience on the JMT after Labor Day?
