Possible to pair TWO phones to one inReach Mini?

Traveling alone in very remote places, I like redundancy…particularly when it comes to electronics that could mean the difference between an unpleasant ordeal and something worse.

I originally had my inReach paired to my older phone which I also used for navigational help. I’d still like to use that old phone, and keep it paired to my inReach. However, after I paired the inReach to my new phone, I don’t see an option to switch between the two in the field. Is this possible?

Unfortunately, no. To switch, you have to “forget” one phone from the inReach and then re-pair with the other phone. It’s a pain.

Yeah, my wife borrowed my inreach in a pinch, and it was a pain in the neck to transfer, and then back again.

Of course, as a back up, you can use the inreach without a phone. Not convenient, but a viable backup plan.

And now, you presumably have satellite access directly from the phone as well.

I was able to connect a pair an Inreach Mini to second iPhone /earthmate without having an internet connection. Tried with the mini 2/explorer, no luck. The pairing process seemed to require internet. Haven’t tried again to see if there any process now that will work with no coverage. Based on above comments I assume the answer is still no.
