Pondering a new backpack. Light, but not UL.

“Light but not UL” is the perfect description of the Osprey EXOS 58. I love mine for its comfort with a 30 pound load (it’s max, IMHO). You can add light side pockets as I have for better organization of items you may want fast access to like first aid, water treatment, potty gear, stove and fuel, etc.

Osprey has a large following. Certainly a nice pack. I’m not sure why I didn’t look at them. A bit of a mind block. I associate them with REI and Gregory. While not a fair comparison and Gregory really makes a decent pack, I went elsewhere. I also realize that while shooting for 20 to 25 pounds, I often end up with a heavy water carry on top of it. I agree though, in this category, the EXOS belongs on the short list.

I posted elsewhere about the SWD Wolverine, but I’ll show it here as well.

Matches my truck.
