I know that polypro absorbs oil (and body oils=stink sadly), but do you think it is possible to use that? Maybe sinking a polypro top in something like mineral baby oil would make the polypro even more water repellent and would also stop the odor problem as it would already have absorbed all the oil it can.. I would like to try but I’d first like your opinion, to not waste my money (I do not own any polypro right now)
My goal would be something water repellent and breathable without DWR like Frogg Toggs; but much more durable as it would be made of woven polypro instead of non woven like in the Frogg Toggs. I hope that the increased water repellency/hydrophobicity from the oil would allow the garment to still block rain even if it’s woven (which means it is full of holes when compared to the non-woven).
Am I dreaming too much?
