I’m helping a friend ID her gear. This is a The North Face bag that is at least 10 years old, maybe more.  No identifing info on the tag except that it’s PolarGuard and the Reg No. is: CA-32761.  It’s approximately 4 lbs 2 oz and dark blue.  Pic below.  Thank you

If I didn’t know any better, I’d think it was a vintage Cat’s Meow (late 90’s early 2k).

But at 4lbs, it might be one of TNF’s 5d or 0d bags instead. (Cat’s Meow was always a 20d bag).

And does the label only say “Polarguard”? (not HV, Classic, or 3d?)

If so, than it’s very likely closer to a 20 year old bag, instead of a ten year old bag. Regardless of what it is, it’s really only useful as a car camping mattress at this point. It’s original temperature rating would be waaaay off.

That looks a lot like a TNF Snowshoe I used to own.  Color is the same.  Weight would be about right too.  I bought it in the early 80s.

I think Dondo is correct the 1998 Snowshoe 0 degree bags were made with PolarGuard and weighed a little over 4lbs

I’ll cast a vote for the Snowshoe also.  Color and weight are wrong for a Cat’s Meow.  That original 0 degree bag is probably about a 50 degree bag now.  I have a 30-yr old C.M. that lives in my truck as an emergency bag, or for use indoors on a couch.
