Hey,
I’ve recently moved back to Philly and know no one who is into backpacking (I didn’t get into thru hiking until after I left here). Anyone around? Love to do some hikes especially weekday. I live in Center City 5 blocks from Billy Penn, and I don’t have a car (moved here in part so I can continue walking everywhere).
There used to be an active Meetup backpacking group up there, I did a couple of trips with them. Good folk. You might check Meetup to see if they’re still around.
I found one meetup that seems like it does stuff in the city, not really hikes tho (like meet for lunch and walk around), mostly it’s only 2 people that go. The others seem in the suburbs (haven’t been able to get a ride with anyone yet), and on the weekends (I work weekends now unfortunately). Not sure if there will be more options in the summer, let’s hope so. Also just reaching out to anyone even to hang with who is into hiking even if can’t get out there right away.
