Hi there,

I bought the Nano Air Hoody last winter. Unfortunately it is a bit too large and seems also a bit too warm for the typical use of an universal softshell (spring/fall) for everyday use and quick hikes.

I’m now thinking about getting the Nano Air Light Hoody so I wanted to ask if anyone compared these two and can give some insights or possible alternatives. I’m basically looking for a lightweight, versatile softshell.

Thanks
Christoph

The nano air isn’t considered a softshell afaik.  I thought it was a pretty warm/breathable active midlayer for below freezing pursuits.  Assuming you want to stay with the breathable active midlayer you could look at polartec alpha jackets (OR Ascendant for example).  I have no experience with them, so I can’t be more specific.  Alternatively, fleece plus windshirt/light softshell would give you more flexibility at the expense of complexity.

You might want to specify the manner in which you plan to use the jacket — then folks might be able to make more useful suggestions.
