Now that these are out for quite a while and people have tested them – how do these options compare to the traditional fleece + windshirt approach in action?

I’m still unsure about improvements in terms of weight, flexibility, etc.

I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do, and I certainly didn’t expect it to dry faster than a microfleece shirt.  Impressive.

I’m curious. How have these held up over the years? Has the insulation degraded much? I haven’t found much of anything speaking on the longevity of these.

I’m still wearing mine from 2018. It’s been through the wringer (multiple bob opens). Insulation has definitely broken down and compared to the NOS one I have stashed it looks like about 50% of the loft is gone. Unfortunately for me an alpha paired with a wind jacket is less weight and more modular.
