In years past, Big Sky has had shipping issues, so I’m happy to report:

Thursday afternoon: I order a shelter from their website (with 2 day shipping)
Friday: I receive an email confirmation of my order with UPS tracking number
Tuesday morning: Shelter arrives

Congrats! What’d you get?

I ordered a Revolution 2P back in ’15 with no problems. Great shelter, but I sold it recently for something bigger to accommodate my growing family of backpackers.

Mirage 2P

This is our second and will replace a Tarptent Double Rainbow. Our first Mirage 2P was purchased through MassDrop back in 2016 (I think).

On our last backpacking trip in July we camped on a vast expanse of smooth granite and the juxtaposition of setting up the Mirage vs. the Rainbow was enough for my wife to give me the go-ahead to order another Mirage.

How do you like the Mirage? How’s it do in the rain and wind? I’ve been thinking of getting the 1-person Mirage or Evolution lately, mainly for use in the Sierra and the Southwest.

I ordered an Evolution several years ago, back when Big Sky was getting a lot of criticism about how it handled orders.  Had no problem at all — great communications with Big Sky re questions I had about the tent before placing the order & it’s the best double-walled tent I’ve ever had. On a side note — what’s with the “inappropriate content” that someone flagged your posting with?  A totally inappropriate flag!

I suspect someone hit the wrong button. I have unreported it.

Cheers
