OR Men's Ferrosi Summit Hooded Jacket? Overall thoughts? Red vs black?

Thinking of pulling the trigger on this.

Does anyone have experience with it? Thoughts?

I have tried on both it and the regular Ferrosi, and I prefer the fit of the Summit.

I am thinking of getting it in black, because I want it to serve dual function as a winter hiking / summit shell and a jacket for wearing around town. Only thing is I am not sure if black is a bad choice for technical reasons? Would I be significantly more prone to overheating in black than in red on a glacier?

I think it just depends on what you’re looking for.

Black would be the better all-around town jacket in my opinion because at a glance it will just look like a hoody.

Red obviously has some technical benefits of visibility on the mountain so they can find you when you need help or find your body, and would attract less heat when out in the open sun.

It’s really personal preference. Since I’m in Utah technical clothing as street wear isn’t all that unusual, so on occasion I go out in my red Ferrosi casually from time to time. I’d be less inclined in San Francisco or Brooklyn.
