the gloves are Geier Gloves 448, elksking fencing gloves. This pair is made with especially thick leather (I have another pair which is nowhere as thick). They might not impede dexterity as much as mitts, but they are far off naked hands. Also, I am right handed, but I was holding the phone with the right, so I handled the GK with the left.
Given I open and close a gatekeeper with one hand only, and my less dexterous hand as well, this video should empirically assuage any concerns people might have about handling gatekeepers with gloves. If you can use both hands things a substantially simpler.
