Call me slow.

Just FYI   RE:  Chase Credit Card (Amazon) .  I just noticed that Chase charges a “cash advance” Fee when I use PayPal which is (was) connected to my Chase Credit Card. …the fee is a minimum $10.00. I had notice this random $10 fee in my monthly CC statement *BUT* it does not state any connection to my PayPal usage. Hmm?. I knew I would pay some PP % here and there, but I am paying both PP and Chase $$

– The cash advance fee is either 5% of the amount or $10, whichever is greater.

Yipes. I would ask them to remove the fee or cancel the card and get another one.

I’ve literally bought thousands and thousands of dollars of stuff via PayPal in the past 20+ years. Usually PayPal is tied to my Discover Card. Never charged a penny in fess, plus I get a little bit in return for the Discover Cash Back program.

Same goes for my Visa debit card and Barclays MC which I occasionally tie to PayPal — no fees.

Some banks are avaricious. And “other” banks are plain usurious – then there is Bank of America…

I’ve got an Amazon/Chase card.  Use it for PayPal all the time.  Not a single $10 charge that I can see for months on end.  PayPal purchases tied to that card for buying stuff from members here, numerous online purchases, all my streaming services are setup with PayPal against that card.  Nada.

wonder if you have some setting in PayPal or with the card that treating it like another transaction type or something.  I’d definitely contact PayPal and Chase to see what’s up.
