Hi,

Looking for recomendations for a Tipi pole that has a 90 inch length for snow loading.

The one that came with my Sierra Design s Tipi does not instill confidence.

Thanks

Stephen, I used to have a 600 series pole from Ruta Locura that seemed very strong. Their poles go up to a 950 series that is available in the length you want. I’d look there. I could be wrong but I believe the “series” is the diameter in inches. 950 series = .950” whereas my 600 series was .600” so the 950 should be much stronger.

Also what about Seek Outside? They make large mids/tipis and they are known for prioritizing sturdiness over weight. I’m pretty sure they have some options.

Telescoping painters pole. Look around and you can find some really heavy duty ones if that’s what you are looking for. I modified one of the skinnier (1 inch) twist and lock ones by adding a push button lock as I didn’t feel the plastic locking mechanism was reliable enough at -30.

Thanks Matthew,

I will have a look at both companies.

Hi Chris,

I have a few at home I could try.

Thanks both,

Stephen
