No Permission to Upload Images in Gear Swap | Posts to Gear Swap Fail

Also unable to post to gear swap, after submitting got the following error: Looks like our GPS took you a bit off-trail. Sorry about that!

Trace, the latter issue is a result of the Cloudflare infrastructure that’s being upgraded across the internet right now (see the sticky post in this forum), and we can’t control that. It’s intermittent and unpredictable. Hopefully will resolve in a few days when they finish up.

We are aware of and diagnosing the permission errors.

We bolted down security pretty hard in this update to protect public access to member profiles and info, and to deal with the massive increase in cyber/spam attacks since about 2016. Today we’re working on making sure that members who have legit accounts have access to their account/membership, and on Tuesday (because of the long weekend) we’ll start working through the “I don’t have permission to do this” requests. There are a few of these, and they are mostly related to file/image uploads – thanks for bringing this one to our attention. I’ll circle back here when it’s resolved!

Update: We have a fix in place and our now testing it thoroughly on our dev server.

Please contact support specifically about the permission issue as it may be unique to your account.

However, image uploads should now be fixed. Report back here if any issues.

This issue has been resolved. Note that image file size caps are 1 MB and type is restricted to JPG or PNG.
