Hey guys!  Hello from sunny Florida!  I have been following this forum for a while, and have learned a lot about my equipment and getting my weight down.  I bought this mesh tent from Paria Outdoors along with the silnylon tarp on Amazon.

First of all, I do not work for the company in any way.  I just wanted to share my experience with the products because I found them to be an excellent value and very well made.  As you know, Florida can get pretty hot and humid and this little mesh tent really takes the cake.

I went out for 2 nights just to play around.  The weather was nice and there was no rain for the near future, so I never even brought out the tarp.  The material is 30D silnylon for both the tarp and the mesh tent floor.  The mesh tent came with 1.5mm Dyneema guidelines and lightweight stakes for a total weight of 24 oz.  The Tarp with Dyneema guidelines and stakes came out to 20.5 oz.  Not bad for under $140 for both!

The mesh tent was simple to set up, and I have messed with the tarp in the backyard with different configurations. The most important part is that it has stood up to my 90lb golden retriever, who is an excellent camping companion, he just has big paws and claws.

Again, I just want to share this because I think it is a really good affordable product for those looking into lightweight shelters!

This mesh tent caught my eye as well. Do you have any more in depth impressions? The “matching” tarp is out of stock, but there are a dozen similar silnylon tarps on Amazon. This is probably the only way I can afford to try a tarp tent without making it myself.

Hey Gerald,

This has been my go-to set up since I got it and I have yet to have any complaints. Everything is still holding up to my dog and has probably had a good 14 nights of backpacking use so far.   If you can, wait until the tarp is back in stock.  Believe me, I bought a bunch of different amazon tarps and the Paria is by far the best one for the price.  I am still really impressed with their products.  The Dyneema lines are awesome as well!  I ended up ordering the accessory set with extra stakes and 100′ of guyline just for the extra Dyneema line.

You can’t go wrong at this price and I know you will be as happy as I am :)  Hope this helps!

What is the weight for just the net tent without the stakes and lines? Looks interesting!

So how tight would two “regular” sleeping pads and two “slim” adults fit in there? “Regular pad”equals at least 23 inches and NON-tapered. I am considering getting this or the other inexpensive net tent on Amazon to experiment for a 2018 Philmont trip. I would be sharing it with another adult.

It really would be just used to sleep in, there isn’t much lounging around with my scout troop, even if it rains. I realize a pair bivy bags under the tarp would be better, but we can’t use them at Philmont, so no point in getting used to them

I said what the heck 65 bucks & free shipping so I bought one to try out, two days later it arrived. WOW! Shipped from Delaware not Colorado. So first thing I noticed was the tag said made in china :( I was hoping it was a small Colorado company sewing these. Oh well! Its not bad, better than anything you could get from Wal-mart. Its a little heavy, mine weighed 21 oz for just the net tent. It would be super sweet if it used a lighter nano netting. All and all not bad if you need so bug protection and you don’t want to spend a lot of cash.
