New Packs from MEC

Too bad the weight isn’t listed. It looks nice and the price seems good.

Yeah does look nice. Hard to believe they took weight seriously though if they’re not going to post it. Also does look like a bit of an odd mix between an alpine and backpacking pack. It’s got alpine stuff like ice axe loops and a Recco reflector, but then odd stuff for alpine like all that external stretch mesh and the vertical zipper to open the extension collar. Could be good – just not quite sure what it’s trying to be.

I looked at these locally and as Dan suggests, more suited to Alpine pursuits.  Having said that, I like these types of packs for backpacking.

Next time I will bring my scale.
